Who's Hugh?

Hugh Christopher Fathers
Born: Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk England
DOB: 23/12/1956
Nationality: Australian
Current Location: Na Kham, Kalasin (Isan) Thailand.

Although in my late forties, I believe I look I look younger. On that, you can be the judge.

me, just a couple of years ago
my hair is now even shorter and the beard has gone, still got the 'mo' though

Just recently I was checking currency rates on Universal Currency Converter and discovered an advert for Tickle a site where they have an on-line IQ type test. Well. . . I deceided to have a go and completed the test and got the basic results, which gave me an IQ score of 129 and classified my Intellectual Type as: Insightful Linguist.

Further details were available for a fee but as usual for me I had no spare money and had to settle for the basic results. This morning (March 20, '06) I found an e-mail from Tickle telling me that because I had scored quite well, they were going to give me the full results for free. Now that's a good deal.

here's the certificate

Individual results included:

Mathematical Intelligence:

80th percentile

Visual - Spacial Intelligence:

100th percentile

Linguistic Intelligence:

100th percentile

Logical Intelligence:

80th percentile

Tickle determined how many people received scores above and below yours. Your 'percentile' represents what percentage of people scored lower than you. In other words, 90th percentile means you scored higher than 80 to 90% of people did. (extracted from the report)

It seems that my maths and logic have let me down, I'm going to have to do something about that.
Why not have a look and try the test yourself.

My interests include reading, predominantly Science (most branches but in particular Cosmology and Paleoanthropology) and Science Fiction (Robert A Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke and many others).

I also love listening to music and have a wide selection of music from Rock, through New Age to Classical. (favorites include: Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons and the list goes on and on. . .).

I enjoy cooking and like to believe that I do a pretty good job. Recently it's been mostly Thai style. After visiting Thailand three times I've come to really enjoy Thai food. Especially the way the Thai's themselves eat it, 'Phet' (hot and spicy) On my last trip, I completed a one day Thai cooking class, so that I could continue to eat my favorite dishes while back in Australia. I think I do a pretty good 'Tom Kha Kai' and my personal favourite 'Phat Kaphrao moo Gai Doa', pork fried with garlic, chilli and Thai basil, served on a bed of rice with a fried egg on top. 'Arawy mak mar', very tasty.

A recent addition to my interests has been this web site. This is my first complete revision since first posting my presence on the web 3 years ago. Luckily for me the free web host I was using no longer exists. So as I had to post my site again, I thought it was a perfect time to re-do the whole site. I've been working on it for a couple of days now and still have a lot to complete.

As I'm sure you can see, there's a long way to go, but I'm enjoying playing with Dreamweaver while I slowly learn all it's little tricks. I hope to constantly update and upgrade this site as I learn more. So check back every now and again to see what's new.

Most of all I love to talk. I like to get involved in in depth discussions on all manner of subjects, some of which I can be quite passionate about. Not a fan of chat, so you won't find me in any chat rooms but I will always answer any e-mail sent to me. So if there is anything you would like to comment on, discuss or complain about, please feel free to drop me a line.

Thank you for taking your time to come and look at my web site. With the cornucopia of information of every description available on the net, it's amazing that you found me.

Regards, Hugh
